Whats the difference between Big Brother & The Real World?

I hate big brother, but for a drama project I have to do something along the lines, only with an entirely fictional cast.
I asked my drama teacher if we could do something different & he said that we had to do something along the lines, but not nescesarilly the same.
He suggested this american programme called the real world. But from what Ive heard it seems pretty similar.
What exactlys the difference?

What is a VPN?

VPN is (Virtual Private Network) were first used by companies to enable their employees to securely access internal systems such as email remotely (e.g. from home or while on business trips). Today they are increasingly being used for personal use by individuals to protect their privacy while online in public places (e.g. when using the wi-fi connection in a cafe) or in a country where the internet is censored / blocked (e.g. China, Saudi Arabia…).
